me & my friends

we had pasta for breakfast & chocolate for dinner. we got lost in the alleys & got drunk on sparkling water. we made husbands out of strangers & a house out of dreams. we chased the lights of the city & fell in love with the london breeze.

our feet led us to places unknown. far away from familiarity, but closer to home. the wandering & the strolls, life felt so simple. it felt as if time was on our side & the world stopped spinning for a while.

we watched the sun set & welcomed the dawn. we danced with raindrops & preached fun. our bodies transcended, our minds became one. we wandered & wandered, cherished the day as if it were our last. we painted our memories & turned them into gold. then we burnt our bridges & rewrote our pasts.

our hearts were filled with wonder & awe. we were absorbing the view & breathing in the present moment. living was easy, the world was ours. nothing could have stopped us. we were perfectly content, right where we were. we were the lightbulbs in the dark.
